Recovering Value from Ultra-Fine Minerals

CoTec has entered into a long-term collaboration with Salter Cyclones Limited for the application of Multi-Gravity Separator technology to iron ore and iron ore waste streams.

Multi-Gravity Separators are designed to recover fine and ultra-fine mineral particles that conventional gravity-separation systems may fail to capture efficiently.

Moving to Commercial Deployment

CoTec has purchased a commercial-scale SCMG2 unit that is intended to establish a dedicated testing and demonstration platform at Corem in Québec.

The platform is designed to allow CoTec and prospective customers to evaluate mineral streams at commercial scale before broader deployment.

Potential applications currently being evaluated include:

• recovering additional iron from Lac Jeannine process streams;

• historical iron tailings;

• operating mine tailings and fine-particle streams; and

• prospective opportunities in major iron-producing jurisdictions including Brazil.

CoTec holds exclusive worldwide rights for iron ore and iron ore waste applications using the SCMG2 under its agreement with Salter Cyclones.

The objective is to build a scalable mineral-recovery business that generates value from material currently reporting to waste.
